The 2015 collection features many more shoe options, T-shirt designs and hats. The collection of uniquely designed footwear, apparel and equipment, is inspired by the LGBT community and celebrates the passion and pursuit of sport by all athletes. The release date is 1st June, same as before, just in time to celebrate Pride month. This June, Nike is celebrating Pride Month with the launch of its annual BETRUE line. The 2017 Nike BETRUE collection also includes a pair of rainbow colored socks, along with tank tops and t shirts. This year's collection os part of the bigger EQUALITY initiative that was backed by big names in sport such as LeBron James, Megan Rapinoe and Serena Williams. A pair of Pegasus 34 with a iridescent color palette completes this year's shoes line-up. These are combined with Nike innovations and the message Run Fierce printed on the shoe’s sock liners. Included in these are the color pink and the triangle. The latter features a rainbow band across its tongue, a subtle customization for the otherwise classic colorway. The 2017 footwear and apparel collection also pairs the classic rainbow gradient with other prominent, well-known symbols of pride. Just as before, new and old styles are featured, such as the Nike VaporMax and the Nike Cortez. Using vacuum-printed sublimation to achieve maximum brightness and a smooth, HD gradient, Nike designers achieved the first-ever eight-color, rainbow. There are some "Firsts" this year, like the rainbow Swoosh on the Flyknit Racer and the translucent rainbow themed sole unit on the VaporMax. The 2017 Nike BETRUE collection features four sneakers and several pieces of apparel, being in line with what we've seen in the recent years. Other brands such as adidas and Converse have similar collections coming out every year. The Air Max 2090 BeTrue follows the energy of parade marches, the setting in which modern pride is rooted.
The Air Deschutz BeTrue brings a functional simplicity to a fun, versatile sandal. A big part of it was the brand's decision to donate proceeds from the sales to the LGBT community, contributing financially to many of its rights groups. The Air Force 1 features a 10-color heel mark inspired by the More Color, More Pride flag introduced in Philadelphia in 2017. The original idea was to bring subtle customizations to already well-known styles, to be stylish and easy to match with any attire. It was an experiment at first but after the just the first year it turned into a movement.
